Social Media – Are You On Board?

I will be the first to admit it…I was skeptical. When people told me that Voeller Construction NEEDED to be using social media, I really didn’t think it was necessary. Turns out that I was wrong.

In the past few weeks I have secured two projects through social media. I am now a BELIEVER in the power of the internet and social media.

The first project came as a result of LinkedIn. An architect who is a LinkedIn contact of mine saw my profile and referred me to a developer he was working with on a condo project in St. Pete. He was using LinkedIn to narrow down his search. The second project was a result of a Google search in which a Plant Manager was looking for a construction company to design/build an industrial project he was working on. He Googled, found my website and contacted me for a quote.

Regardless of what industry you are in, you need to have a presence on the internet. Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, and You Tube have changed the way we do business. It has been proven that over 95% of people will begin their search for a company or business on-line, this is especially true in real estate. In fact, these folks use the internet to narrow down their search and disqualify the competition. Your presence on-line is very similar to your store front. You have to be positioned in such a way that you are providing valuable information that will allow a client to become educated about who you are and what you do.
